My favorite part of downtown is the noise. I get homesick in quiet places because of it! I like knowing there's always something going on in the city bring people, cultures and experiences together! I will never move away from downtown!
My musical and surveyor's endeavors have taken me to every province and territory in Canada, other than Nunavut. The most interesting unique downtown I have seen on my travels is downtown Shefferville.
The first time I took public transit from the airport. The bus took me down Barrington and and looking around at all of it, the old brick buildings, the vibrant street art, the unique stories, I knew Halifax was my kind of town. I've lived here for 3 years and I plan on staying for as long as Halifax will have me.
Every downtown in our great Canadian cities, from the west to the east, offers something unique and vibrant. "Like that night in Toronto, on the checkerboard floor" - special memories thanks to Gord Downie & the Hip!
A few years ago, our business suffered a fire, just as the holiday season was kicking off. It could have been devastating for us and our business. But we made it through the experience and emerged with a strong sense of gratitude and appreciation for our Downtown business community. We were overwhelmed by the kindness, support and encouragement from our neighbours on our street.
