When I was attending Ryerson as a journalism student, I lived a stone's throw from Yonge st. My part time job was parking cars on Victoria st. My customers were audience members at the Massey Hall.
Many, many weekends in my youth were spend buying record. It was a social event.
I remember coming down to Yonge st. to buy CDs and tapes at Sam's, Music World and HMV. And then opening up the lines and listening to the CDs on the TTC trip back to Scarborough.
Every downtown in our great Canadian cities, from the west to the east, offers something unique and vibrant. "Like that night in Toronto, on the checkerboard floor" - special memories thanks to Gord Downie & the Hip!
