My favorite memory of Yonge street is meeting the doorman at Elgin who turned out to be a heritage buff. He gave us a tour of the building, which at the time under threat of demolition such history in those walks!
Saskatoon's downtown is the key to the identity of the city. I love 3rd Avenue and its streetscape of boomtime buildings of 1912. This must be the best boomtime streetscape in Saskatoon, if not in Western Canada. I have also enjoyed leading tours of downtown buildings and point out the fossils in the Tyndall limestone - on a safari in Saskatoon!
I just moved to downtown Saskatoon, and I am currently living in the Drinkle 3 building. I grew up in Saskatoon before I moved to North Battleford and spent my high school years there. I have a million memories of downtown Saskatoon, having grown up living on 20th street.
The Downtown core of Ottawa is always bursting with life. This past summer, as Ottawa celebrated Canada150, it put on a spectacular show including a fire breathing mechanical dragon and spider. Another memory to add to the list of why I love Downtown Ottawa. #iBelongDowntown because it leaves me feeling fulfilled and excited!
When I’m in downtown Vancouver I feel like I’m in a new country. It is a different place depending on the time or day. During work hours everywhere you look you will see a sea of professionals, in the evening it is a place where people come to relax and hang out with loved ones to share their diverse cultures, and interests. Everytime I go downtown, I return having learned something new.
