I moved to Halifax in 2010 from Ontario. I had always dreamed of living somewhere I could see the ocean everyday. I fell in love. Coming from a small sheltered town, downtown Halifax opened my eyes and my heart. Halifax made me more accepting, more trusting, more loving and taught me it was ok to be myself. 7 years later Halifax is my forever home. It stood by me as I came out and I will forever have my heart in downtown. Thank you Halifax!
I always wanted to come to Canada. Being in Halifax is like a dream come true. I am here as an exchange student and I love downtown. The streets are beautiful and clean and everyone is nice.
Two of my absolute favourite places to go are the Seaport Farmers Market and the Black Market. Amazing people and such a feel good experience Always lifts me up when I'm feeling down to visit these places. I also love the World Tea House. It's important to support local businesses. I love downtown Halifax.
I grew up in downtown Ottawa and have lived downtown Toronto but now living and working downtwon Halifax the one thing I have noticed and love about here is all the familiar faces you notice and see every day - whether its at one of the many local coffee shops or on the street. It feels like a real community and makes downtown Halifax a lovely place to call home.
I love all the history of downtown Halifax. We have visited St. Paul's church where we discovered an extremely knowledgeable gentleman who shared so much history. In Province House we were welcomed and greeted by so many people on many different levels.
The first time I took public transit from the airport. The bus took me down Barrington and and looking around at all of it, the old brick buildings, the vibrant street art, the unique stories, I knew Halifax was my kind of town. I've lived here for 3 years and I plan on staying for as long as Halifax will have me.
When I was in my first year of university (MSVU), I went to SMU for and interview, I bumped into a friend. I Realized that I wanted to surprise visit some friends at Dal.
I am from a small town in Cape Breton Island called North Sydney. Downtown Halifax is one of my favourite places to visit any time of the year. It is fast paced and full of culture. It's vibrant and youthful and there is always something to so or see. Downtown Halifax is alive.
