Halifax | Saturday, October 22

On October 22nd, I Belong Downtown was in Halifax talking to Canadians from across the City about their downtown.  Set up in the middle of busy Argyle street during City Harvest, we had comfortable chairs and fun props for folks to stop by and share a story, take a picture or record a video.

Victoria | Friday, October 27

In downtown Victoria, we spoke to hundreds of people about their downtown stories.  Early in the morning, we gave away coffee and cookies to commuters on their way for work (in exchange for stories).  At lunch time, we set up in the Bay Centre with display boards, a story sharing station, and a conversation-based photobooth.

Saskatoon | Tuesday, October 31

In Saskatoon, the I Belong Downtown celebration was held in the beautiful Drinkle 3 heritage building.  The event brought out downtown residents, business owners and stakeholders to share stories about downtown Saskatoon.  The City of Saskatoon archivist, a downtown Councillor, the owner of a local heritage building, and a urban study professor started things off, before we opened it up to the audience to share their stories.

London | Monday, November 6th

Londeners gathered in the Innovation Works building early on a Monday morning for our I Belong event.  Three artists led the group in a discussion and reflection on diversity, what it means to belong and how downtown London can create a stronger sense of belonging in the community.

Toronto | Wednesday November 22

Last but not least, on November 22nd, we set-up our I Belong Downtown booth at Massey Hall.  Following the Downtown Yonge BIA AGM, participants visited our station and photobooth and shared stories about downtown Toronto.
